Certificate in Social Work and Caregiving

The Certificate in Social Work and Caregiving is a 12-week program designed to prepare individuals for roles in social work, caregiving, and community support services. Course Descriptions

This course introduces participants to the core principles and practices of social work. Topics include social work ethics, professional standards, and the role of social workers in different settings.  

  • Learning Outcome:Understand the foundational principles of social work and their application in caregiving roles.

Participants will learn about human development across the lifespan and how social, emotional, and psychological factors influence behavior. This course focuses on how social workers and caregivers can support individuals at different stages of life.  

  • Learning Outcome: Understand human development and apply this knowledge to address the needs of clients across different life stages.

This course focuses on the needs of vulnerable populations, including children, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities. Participants will learn how to develop care plans, provide emotional support, and meet the physical needs of these populations.

  • Learning Outcome: Provide effective care and support for vulnerable individuals by addressing their holistic needs.

This course covers crisis intervention strategies and how to support individuals and families during times of crisis. Topics include grief counseling, trauma-informed care, and emergency response.

  • Learning Outcome:Implement crisis intervention strategies to provide immediate support in times of need.

Participants will explore the role of social workers and caregivers in advocating for social justice and promoting the rights of marginalized groups. The course covers community engagement and policy advocacy.
